Hello VESD Families,
Over the last several weeks, our Nutrition Services team has been on the front lines of the fight to keep our community safe and well-fed. By the end of this week, our team will have served over half a million meals since schools were forced to shut down. In order for us to continue to meet the nutritional needs of our children, we will be making some changes to our meal service.
Beginning Monday, May 4, we will only distribute meals on the first day of each week. Each child will be given a grocery bag with breakfast and lunch for each day of the school week, Monday - Friday. Each grocery bag will include meals with heating instructions and nutritional/allergen info, along with milk and fruit.

Hola familias de VESD,
Durante las últimas semanas, nuestro equipo de Servicios Nutritivos ha estado en las primeras líneas de la batalla para mantener a nuestra comunidad segura y bien alimentada. Al fin de esta semana, nuestro equipo va a sobrepasar más de medio millón de comidas servidas desde que las escuelas fueron obligadas a cerrar. Para que podamos continuar a satisfacer las necesidades nutritivas de nuestros niños, vamos a hacer algunos cambios a nuestro servicios de comidas.
Comenzando el lunes 4 de mayo, vamos a distribuir comidas el primer día de cada semana. Se le dará a cada niño una bolsa con desayuno y almuerzo para cada dia de la semana escolar, lunes - viernes. Cada bolsa va a incluir comidas con instrucciones para calentarlas e información nutritiva/alergenos, junto con leche y fruta.
