Victor Elementary School District offers health and welfare benefits to all eligible employees. Our goal is to provide resources to keep you informed so that you may utilize the plan benefits to their fullest potential.

Medical Plans for active and eligible retired VETA Bargaining Unit Members are provided through Self-Insured Schools of California (SISC).  Plan options include Blue Shield PPO, Blue Shield HMO and Kaiser HMO.  Benefit Summaries are available in the tabs below.

Reminders and Helpful Information:

The benefits package for VETA Bargaining Unit Members is fully paid by the district and includes medical, dental and vision insurance for the employee and eligible dependents; and basic Life and AD&D insurance coverage for the employee. 

  • Open Enrollment is held annually during May and is your annual opportunity to make changes to your insurance.
  • Changes made to medical plans during Open Enrollment go into effect on October 1st  
  • Open Enrollment changes to dental, vision, or voluntary supplemental insurance plans go into effect July 1st

  • Basic Life/AD&D and Voluntary Supplemental Life/AD&D Insurance  As of July 1, 2023, our district transitioned to MetLife for our district-paid Basic Life/AD&D Insurance and for our Voluntary Supplemental Life/AD&D plans.  The district-paid Basic Life AD&D Insurance benefit amount increased to $50,000.  All existing elections carried over to MetLife on July 1, 2023.  Click Here to View Benefit Summary   A special enrollment period was held 9/11/23 through 9/22/23 allowing employees to enroll in or make changes to Voluntary Supplemental Life/AD&D coverage.  Our new MetLife plan allows for the purchase of spouse and dependent coverage.  See benefit summary for more details.

Optional Voluntary Insurance Plans
Enrollment, cancellation or changes to these plans can be made during the open enrollment period held the first three weeks in May with changes becoming effective July 1st. The cost to enroll in these plans is processed as a payroll deduction.

Section 125 Flexible Spending Account Plans
American Fidelity is our district's third-party administrator for the Section 125 Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account Plans.  Employees can enroll for the first time or re-enroll in a Section 125 Flexible Spending Account Plan during the open enrollment period held in May.   Contact

403(b) and Roth 403(b) Voluntary Retirement Plan
